Three charged in offshore drug seizure

POLICE HAVE CHARGED three men in connection with more than 500 pounds of cannabis seized in an offshore operation last Thursday night.

They are Allan Anthony Cutting, 48 years of Godding Road, St Michael; 55-year-old Andrew Alexander Smith, of Brighton, St. Michael; and Stewart Delisle Ifill, 30, of Bartlett Tenantry, Sargeant’s Village, Christ Church.

According to police, members of the Drug Squad assisted by the Police Marine Unit and the Barbados Coast Guard intercepted a Barbados-registered boat off the north coast and three men were held on board.  

A search revealed approximately 523.6 pounds of cannabis in 12 polythene bags.  The drugs have a street value of just under $1.5 million.

Cutting, Smith and Ifill are to appear at the District A Magistrates Court on Tuesday. (PR/SAT)
