George Rock the KO champs
GEORGE ROCK XI are the champions of the Barbados Cricket League’s C.O. Williams/Mitchie Hewitt Limited-overs Competition.
They clinched the title with a hard-fought victory by three wickets against Lucky Horseshoe Welches at the Lears ground last week Sunday.
All-rounder Kemar Standford played an important role in helping George Rock XI to their victory against a Welches team that included former top league players Ryan Nurse, Owen Birch and Mike Matthews.
Spinner Standford grabbed three for 29 in Welches’ total of 176 for seven in 29 overs and scored 26 as George Rock achieved the target in 26 overs for the loss of seven wickets.
