A time to ‘de-stress’

THOUSANDS OF SCHOOLCHILDREN breathed a collective sigh of relief at the end of the 2016 Barbados Secondary Schools’ Entrance Examination.

Kiamara Best-Cox was one of them. While she was too shy to speak to the Press, her story was ably told by her proud father Carlos Cox.

“When she came out, she went [sigh] and told me she was glad it’s over,” he said.

The Arthur Smith School student and her dad were among a large group at Hilton Barbados, in Needham’s Point, St Michael, celebrating the end of the exam. Cox said his daughter worked hard and did her best.

“She said she got through well with the grammar but the math was a bit challenging. She spent  a lot of late nights studying, preparing for today – sometimes she would pass out on the table while doing work . . . (CA)
