New man at Parkinson from today
AFTER 21 YEARS at Grantley Adams Memorial School, Ian Holder is about to write another chapter in his teaching career.
This morning, the 55-year-old former deputy principal at the St Joseph school will walk into Parkinson Memorial Secondary School as its new principal following the retirement last week of long-serving educator Jeff Broomes.
While the former student of The Lodge School is looking forward to his new assignment, he described as bittersweet leaving the place where he taught maths and physical education since entering the teaching service two decades ago.
During a telephone interview with the MIDWEEK NATION, Holder said he could not find the words to describe how he felt about leaving the school although he pointed out he was looking forward to the new task ahead. (GBM)
