AN IMPRESSIVE line-up of 14 nominees is vying for places in this year’s Massy United Insurance Barbados Derby, which has been confirmed to be run off on August 6 at the Garrison Savannah.

The event, one of the biggest races on the Barbados Turf Club’s (BTC) calendar and the final leg of the Triple Crown, will see Steven Allan and Stolen, among others, push for glory after their pulsating finish in the Guineas last month.

The Triple Crown has not been won since 2009 when Areutalkintome achieved the rare feat.

Steven Allan will be seeking to win the second leg of the Triple Crown, the Pinnacle Feeds Mid-Summer Classic, on June 25. (LY)
