FROM THE Insurance Corporation of Barbados Ltd. (ICBL) to Sagicor.

That was decision taken by the council of the National Union of Public Workers (NUPW) after they met behind closed doors yesterday afternoon.

The meeting came after ICBL dropped the union’s NUPW Insurance Agents Inc. after it declared it was suffering losses on the plan. ICBL’s coverage ends on May 22.

Speaking after the meeting, general secretary Roslyn Smith told the WEEKEND NATION the council had decided that the union’s medical insurance plan would be “moving over to Sagicor”.

“It will cover our 1 800-strong policyholders and would be effective June 1,” she said. (HLE)
