MOTHERS IN THE NORTH were thanked by children for their guidance on Mother’s Day yesterday.
Tribute was paid to the matriarchs at churches, family lunches and even at burial spots.
Mothers were praised in song and word and treated to gifts at All Saints Anglican Church at Pleasant Hall, St Peter, during regular service conducted by Reverend Selvin Lowe.
Not far away, at Pleasant Hall Gardens, Antoinette Belgrave-Blunte was in a more sombre mood. She was beside her mother’s grave, refreshing the foliage while reflecting on her passing four years ago.
“I come here every Mother’s Day, on her birthday, Christmas Day and any other time I get an opportunity to do so. She was a very good mother,” said Belgrave-Blunte. (RL)
