Speed to burn

PHENOMENAL. Lewis Hamilton drove with ferocious speed on both dry and wet road, the super bike racers defied gravity with their outrageous skills and the monster trucks unloaded their menacing horsepower.

And then, there was the nerve-jangling handicap event, which featured a combination of various cars such as the radicals and the suzuki swifts.

The occasion was the Barbados Festival of Speed held in steamy morning and afternoon heat at the enhanced Bushy Park circuit in St Philip yesterday.

By the time rain and swirling winds brought a premature end to the day’s proceedings at 6:05 p.m., the more than 10 000 fans seemed to think they got their money’s worth.
