Sagicor boss calls for strong heads

ONE OF THE region’s top businessmen says leadership is going to be crucial to addressing many of the economic and social challenges in Barbados and the region.

The advice came from Stephen McNamara, chairman of Sagicor Financial Corporation as he addressed members of the Barbados Employers’ Confederation’s (BEC) 56th annual luncheon at Hilton Barbados yesterday.

“Leadership is required to achieve the cooperation that leads to action. Because it is only through mature and often courageous leadership, that you can define the reality of the challenges that are present in our circumstances – and create a compelling case for action,” he said.

“Only through leadership can you communicate your vision of a shared future that is better than what the present assured if we do not change.” (GE)
