Senseless killing
“BE STRONG for my mother and for everybody.”
Those were among the last words Colin Forde said to his son, 22-year-old Raheim Forde, on Tuesday night as Colin was rushed to emergency surgery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) after being robbed of jewellery and gunned down at Colin’s Sports Bar and Lounge.
About three hours later, the 55-year-old Baxters Road proprietor succumbed to his injuries which, according to his son, were complicated by a heavy loss of blood.
Forde apparently suffered gunshot wounds to a shoulder, foot and upper body.
Almost three years earlier to the date, his mother, Elaine Anita Simpson-Forde, lost her husband and Colin’s father, Colin Forde Sr, to a heart attack. He was found slumped in a chair inside the business place. (TS)
