Teen charged with murder

POLICE HAVE FORMALLY charged 19-year-old Rasheed Sylvester Cox, with the offence of murder in relation to the death of Veldene Hinds.

The Ocean Road, Deacons Farm, St Michael resident is expected to appear in the District  “A” Magistrates’ Court today.

Hinds, who was 57, died on May 4 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital after being shot in the back of the head on May 1.

Cox was also charged with wounding with intent and use of a firearm, both allegedly on May 1.

He was also accused of engaging in unlawful sexual intercourse in August 2014. (PR/NB)
