TONY COZIER was an unmatched beacon of journalistic excellence in sports writing and broadcasting to the world.
The son of an illustrious editor – Mr Edward Lloyd “Jimmy” Cozier – Tony, unquestionably a brilliant writer, an authoritative commentator on radio and television, and a phenomenally outstanding teacher of his chosen discipline, submitted his final copy on Wednesday, May 11, at the age of 75 years and 70 days.
There are several faces to Tony, but none comes close to the halcyon days when he laboured in his father’s vineyard at the now defunct Barbados Daily News, as the youthful cornerstone of policy that shaped the fascination and entry of young aspirants into worthwhile and beneficial careers in one of the most noble of professions.
