Crowdfunding drive for Barrow film

PRODUCERS OF THE FILM Barrow: Freedom Fighter, have launched an online fundraising campaign.

They are seeking to raise approximately $150 000 for “for editing, colouring and sound mixing”.

It is being hosted on international crowdfunding site Indiegogo. They have raised $440 over the first three days of the month-long drive.

According to the site, Barrow: Freedom Fighter will be the first feature length film on a Caribbean leader. Its release is scheduled to coincide with the 50th anniversary of Independence.

The project will be produced by Step by Step Productions, the makers of the Hush trilogy and the movie Vigilante.

Bajan/American actor Adrian Holmes will play the role of Errol Barrow, while Lisa Arrindell Anderson has been cast as his wife Carolyn.

Also on board for the project is Bajan/Trinidadian Robert Riley of VH1’s Hit The Floor, local theatre actor Tony Thompson of Laff It Off fame and Sean Michael Field who took a slew of awards, including Best Actor at the 2015 Barbados Visual Media Awards.

Other familiar faces include calypsonians Stedson “Red Plastic Bag” Wiltshire, Anderson “Blood” Armstrong, Mac Fingall and Ronnie Clarke as well as spoken word artiste Adrian Green.

Former United States attorney General Eric Holder will narrate the docudrama.
