Bishop’s challenge for next 50

ANGLICAN BISHOP Dr John Holder has thrown out a challenge to all Barbadians on what type of Barbados they want for the future.

He raised the issue on Sunday while delivering his charge at St Michael’s Cathedral at the start of the church’s annual Synod.

As the country celebrates its 50th anniversary of Independence this year, he lauded many of the achievements over the past five decades, but said it was important to consider what it would be like in the next 50 years.

“What type of country are we creating for those who will be here after us?” Holder asked. “What am I doing to ensure that we will leave this great country of ours far better than we found it?” (ES)
