Crop Over Plan B venue

THE LLOYD ERSKINE SANDIFORD CENTREĀ (LESC) will play a key role in the Sweetest Summer Festival this year.

It will be the stand-in venue in case rain affects any of the calendar events slated for the National Stadium and Kensington Oval.

Chief executive officer of the National Cultural Foundation (NCF), Cranston Browne, made the disclosure recently, adding the unavailability of the Gymnasium of the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex put the NCF in a ā€œvery difficult positionā€.

ā€œThe only other venue that we could look at is the LESC. There is no other indoor facility with that kind of capacity,ā€ Browne said.

Minister of Culture Stephen Lashley also spoke to the issue. He said it pointed to a problem that continued to plague Barbados. (YB)
