McDowall still in the dark

ANY TALK OF a no-confidence motion against National Union of Public Workers (NUPW) president Akanni McDowall is still just that – talk.

That is because he is yet to receive any official word regarding the matter.

McDowall told the DAILY NATION over the weekend that while he had heard rumours of a proposed no-confidence motion against him, he was yet to receive any official correspondence.

“I have not been informed officially as yet. These things are very specific. To remove a president is not easy,” he said.

“I have to be informed officially first and that has not happened. As soon as that has happened, I guess the general secretary would be the person to announce.” (AD)
