IT IS ONLY natural for men to run when they see police, so why would the police shoot at them?
This was the argument put forward by men who were liming at Airy Hill, St Joseph, yesterday morning, who accused police of opening fire on them as they scampered.
The men, who were playing tennis and cards in Joseph Kellman’s backyard, a popular liming spot, admitted that they bolted when “nuff” police descended on the area. No one was hurt during the commotion.
“It was nuff police from the Task Force and they just shoot at the men. You know when police come, men gine run whether or not they got something ’pon them. Men run cross the school pasture and they just start shooting and that wasn’t called for. Suppose they had hit one of the children playing there?” one upset man said, claiming the cops were armed with M16s. (MB)
