Family appeals for blood donations

THE FAMILY OF Taurean Clarke is making an urgent appeal to Barbadians to donate blood.

Clarke was one of three people injured in an accident on Monday along the Barrow Section of the ABC Highway between the Life of Barbados roundabout and Briar Hall, Christ Church.

Donations can be made to the Blood Collection Centre of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Ladymeade Gardens, Jemmotts Lane, St Michael.

The opening hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

As per their policy, diabetics on insulin, or those who have had a tattoo, body piercing or acupuncture within the last year, are not permitted to give blood.  (SAT)
