YESTERDAY’S MARCH for Justice attracted a wide cross section of Barbadians who all joined together for a common cause – to protest recent Government policies.
The march was organised by the Barbados Labour Party (BLP). Some of the most spoken about issues included Government’s decision to restore their voluntary ten per cent pay cut; the continued problem of water shortages in St Joseph and other rural areas and the long-standing civil service pay freeze.
The WEEKEND NATION was there to get the opinions of those present and find out what motivated them to be there.
Political analyst Peter Wickham marched and said that he thought the previous failed no-confidence motion last week was the BLP’s opportunity to speak to their concerns, while the march gave the people their chance to be heard. (CA)
