Villa soaring with Blackbirds

GUARDIAN GENERAL Pride of Villa rejoined UWI Blackbirds ‘A’ at the top of the Division 1 netball table with an impressive 52-37 win over Blackbirds ‘B’ on Wednesday night at the Netball Stadium.

Captain Latonia Blackman continued her sublime form, sinking a whopping 42 goals from 48 attempts, while her sister Nadia Blackman added ten from 17 as Villa moved to 3/0 and a maximum 15 points, the same as Blackbirds ‘A’. 

The two leaders will clash next Wednesday, while Blackbirds ‘A’ meeting Pine Hill Dairy St Barnabas tonight at seven.

On Wednesday night, UWI’s only leads were at 2-1 and 3-2 and they matched Villa at 6-6 before the Blackman show began. (KB)
