No SJPP audit in 10 years
THE SAMUEL JACKMAN PRESCOD POLYTECHNIC (SJPP) has received a sound whipping from the Auditor General.
Leigh Trotman has described as “most unsatisfactory” the outstanding period over which the accounts at that educational institution in Wildey, St Michael, have remained unaudited.
He also commented on the situation at the Rural Development Commission (RDC) and the Urban Development Commission (UDC), two agencies which work to improve the quality of life of people living in both rural and urban communities.
“The financial statements of the Polytechnic have not been audited for over ten years. It is time for the board and the Ministry [of Education] to intervene and end this most unsatisfactory state of affairs,” the Auditor General said in his latest annual report. (ES)
