Hurley, Pine steal Game 1

PINELANDS sure do have a lot of players with championship-winning experience.

Of course it was the one without any that came up clutch.

Derion Hurley had quite the finals debut, scoring both the game-tying and go-ahead baskets, as Orange 3 Pinelands escaped with Sunday’s 79-76 Game 1 victory over Station Hill Cavaliers in the Co-operators General Insurance Premier League basketball finals.

It was the last twist to a suspense thriller at the Barbados Community College, where the Cavs turned the opener upside down by rallying from a 16-point third-quarter deficit to take a stunning 76-71 lead inside the final two minutes.
