THIS IS not a burglar breaking into a house.

Nigel Austin now has to climb through this space where a window once was in order to get into his home at Hill Road, Bank Hall, St Michael.

The 60-year-old man found himself in the predicament after he came home on Thursday evening to find the doors and windows to the house removed and galvanised sheets nailed in the spaces where the front door and side door use to be. In addition, a padlock was placed on the water meter and all the components to the electrical meter removed.

Austin said he had been renting the house for a year and was given notice by the landlord, Noel Pinder, who is also his uncle, to vacate the premises last year because of non-payment of rent. (MB)
