Barbados to get a hospice

BARBADIANS IN the diaspora are teaming up with those at home to provide a hospice and palliative care home for the terminally ill.

Jessica Odle-Baril, one of the driving forces behind the project to build the proposed
$5 million, 14-bed facility, said it would be “a place for people to die with dignity”. 

According to Odle, the idea to fill this need originated with the Barbados Cancer Association in the United States. The project is being undertaken by the Barbados Association for Cancer Advocacy (BACCA) in collaboration with Living Water Community of the Roman Catholic Church, which has already donated the land at St David’s, Christ Church.
