Oscar Jordan laid to rest
THERE WAS STANDING ROOM ONLY in the Chapel of the Coral Ridge Memorial Gardens this afternoon as hundreds said farewell to Dr Oscar Jordan, a tireless campaigner in the bid for diabetes treatment and control.
Acting Governor General Sir Philip Greaves, politicians, parliamentarians and a wide representation of the medical fraternity were among the large congregation of mourners.
Jordan, the driving force behind the establishment of the Diabetes Foundation and multiplicity Care Centre at Warrens, St Michael, passed away last week after a brief illness.
He was eulogised by Sir Fred Gollop as “a man of great dignity, wit and charm”, while his children Claire, Alex and Julian, in an Open Letter, praised him for his guidance and fatherly example which helped to mould them . (GC)
