THE NINE FINALISTS chosen on Friday, July 1, for the Sweet Soca competition will definitely have to worry about Edwin Yearwood when they go to Bushy Park on July 24.

That’s because the Sweet Soca monarch will be defending his title or, as he puts it, “I’ll be there fighting for it.”

And, if all goes well, those on the Party Monarch stage will have to bring their “A game” since the five-time king has been chosen as one of 16 semi-finalists in that competition.

“The General”, who has not competed in Party Monarch since 2010 with Christening, has never won that title at the new Bushy Park venue.
