THE SECONDARY SCHOOLS’ road tennis competition was pulled due to the lack of sponsorship, officials said on Friday.
At a media conference to announce the National Sports Council’s (NSC) 2016 Summer Sports Camp, camp coordinator Wayne Robinson said efforts would be made to get the road tennis going again.
“It’s not something that is dead. It is not something we intend to let rest because with the increased profile road tennis now has, it would be remiss of us not to have it at the secondary level,” he said.
Robinson said the popularity of road tennis had soared to new heights in the last five years and the sport was currently played at Alexandra Secondary and Deighton Griffith Secondary.
