THE PEOPLE OF the Church Village Housing Area in St Philip say they are living in fear that one day they may be confronted by a convicted prisoner in their homes.

A few upset residents, all of whom requested anonymity, told the WEEKEND NATION the prisoners were already at their gates as some of the fencing around the farm at HMS Dodds was down, and often convicts could be seen staring over their walls and making inappropriate gestures to women in the area.

However, Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite gave the assurance the issue was being dealt with.

“Management of the prison is aware of the issue of the fence and it is being addressed. However, when the fence was [down], there were no complaints and now it is being fixed, there are complaints and that logic escapes me,” he said. (CA)
