IT’S GOING TO BE EPIC!

This year the “sweetest summer festival”, Crop Over, coupled with Barbados celebrating the big “five-O”, seems to have attracted large numbers of expected visitors.

That news has come from Barbados Hotel & Tourism Association (BHTA) chief executive officer Sue Springer.

She said that for the first week in July and August, bookings were definitely up and even in November analytics showed there was a noted increase as well.

“Some of these bookings are definitely people coming from the diaspora for our 50th anniversary,” she said.

“Based on how the people are booking, where they are booking from, and the category that they are booking under, many of the hotels have special rates for those from the diaspora visiting the island.”
