BARBADOS’ fastest junior Mario Burke is set spearhead a strong seven-member World Juniors athletics team that also includes CARIFTA Games’ double medallists Sada Williams and Jonathan Jones.

Burke, who will run both the 100 and 200 metres, will be joined by fellow sprinters Jaquone Hoyte (100) and Kentoine Browne (200) for the championships, which will now be held in Poland, July 19-24.

Olympic Games selectee Williams, who will contest the 200 and 400 metres and Tristan Evelyn (100) are the only girls in the squad.

Gifted middle distance runner Jones will also make the trip alongside promising young hurdlers and former Lester Vaughan schoolmates Rivaldo Leacock (400 hurdles) and Michael Nicholls (110 hurdles).

Meanwhile, Brazil-bound Levi Cadogan will get in some much needed pre-Olympic competition when he headlines the eight-member NACAC Under-23 Championships team.

Also included for the July 15-17 championships in Puerto Rico are another Olympic Games representative Tia-Adana Belle (100 hurdles, 400 hurdles) and her fellow hurdlers Kion Joseph (400 hurdles) and Tremaine Maloney (110 hurdles).
