A ST MICHAEL WOMAN is claiming that she is now being asked to pay back more than half-million dollars or twice the original value of a mortgage provided by the City of Bridgetown (COB) Credit Union.

And she is warning people with outstanding loans at any financial institution to pay close attention to all of their paperwork including legal documents.

The secondary school senior teacher told the WEEKEND NATION that having secured a $330 000 mortgage in 2011 to build her home, she subsequently added a further $30 000 six months later to help finance the cost of her son’s medical studies. The woman, who asked not to be identified, contended that she never signed any other documents, or received any further monies from the credit union. (RB)
