AN ELDERLY WOMAN who had been reported missing was rescued from a ravine this morning by a 90-member strong team from the Royal Barbados Police Force and the Barbados Defence Force.

Police say the team conducted an operation from around 5:30 a.m in areas near to the Joe’s River, St Joseph home of 82-year-old Agnes Eudora Thompson.

Acting on information, 40 police officers led by an inspector and 50 BDF personnel found Thompson in a deep ravine in Frizers.

Due to the difficult terrain, police say it was not until 7 a.m. that the elderly woman could be brought out of the gully.

Medics treated her at the scene before she was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by BDF ambulance. (PR/NB)
