AFTER MORE THAN FOUR hours of competition, the Soca Royale finalists were announced early this morning by National Cultural Foundation’s event producer Aja at Kensington Oval.
And many of the familiar names fill out the slate for the July 24 event at Bushy Park.
Going forward to contest Edwin Yearwood in the Sweet Soca finals will be AC, Biggie Irie, Joaquin, Marvay, Mikey, Mistah Dale, Nikita and Peter Ram. Yannick Hooper is reserve.
The final eight for the Party Monarch are Edwin, iWeb, Leadpipe and Saddis, Lil Rick, Mikey, Mistah Dale, MR BLOOD and TC. The reserve is King Bubba.
Peter Ram is the defending champion.
The semi-finals of the Sweet Soca and Party Monarch Competitions came on either end of the inaugural Bashment Soca Competition which was won by Stiffy with the popular Tek Off Something. (NS)
