IT DIDN’T take long for Danielle Titus to make her mark at the 21st Caribbean Islands Swimming Championships (CISC) in The Bahamas.

The 13-year-old Titus won Barbados’ only gold medal on the second day of the championships and also got one of the three silver medals that the Barbadians earned, along with six bronze medals.

Titus’ golden swim came in the final individual event of the night – the 400 metres individual medley – with a time of 5:20:94 minutes, which was one second faster than Jamaica’s Laura Limsang (5:21:93) and well ahead of bronze medallist Sabrina David of Trinidad and Tobago (5:28:52).

Earlier, Danielle Treasure, swimming in the 11-12 age group, secured bronze in the 200m freestyle in a time of 2:17:45. Gold went to Emily MacDonald of Jamaica (2:15:29) and silver to Logan Watson-Brown of Bermuda (2:16:72).
