ATTORNEY GENERAL Adriel Brathwaite wants a national discussion on euthanasia.
He made this call yesterday as he addressed a strategy meeting on Health-Related Law: Sensitisation, Dissemination and Implementation In The English-Speaking Eastern Caribbean Countries at the Pan-American Health Organisation (PAHO).
Brathwaite raised the importance of having legislation relating to the right-to-die as he recounted a personal situation with a family member.
“About three weeks ago I went to visit my older brother, who’s quite ill, and there he is in adult pampers [disposable diapers]. And if ever there was a free spirit, my brother is a free spirit,” Brathwaite said as he addressed the gathering at PAHO’s headquarters in Marine Gardens, Hastings, Christ Church. (AD)
