Sir Garry touched
APPARENTLY no one wants to see the “Sir Garry at 80” affair more than the man himself.
The Windies legend looks like he’s been truly bowled over by Government’s decision to celebrate his 80th birthday with a world T20 match. Sir Garfield Sobers said he was thankful for the opportunity to reconnect with friends and cricketing icons.
He made the comments yesterday while updating the public on the latest developments on the July 28 star-studded exhibition at Kensington Oval.
“I was deeply moved and touched by the situation and to listen to some of the names that are coming to participate in this match brings back tremendous memories,” Sir Garry said. (JM)
