BWA back pay starts

BACK PAY money has started to flow in for Barbados Water Authority (BWA) employees from yesterday.

One BWA worker informed the WEEKEND NATION that they started receiving the funds, but some were saying that the amounts “were not right”.

When contacted, chairman of the BWA, Atlee Brathwaite, said yesterday he could not give many details such as how much was paid or if weekly paid employees had received their retroactive payments as well, but he confirmed that “payments are being made at the moment”.

Brathwaite said the process for the payments had been completed and the money was sent to the banks on Wednesday for the monthly paid employees.  (LK)
