BRING ON THE LONG WEEKEND.

President of the Barbados Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCI), Eddie Abed, is expecting the retail sector to come alive between today and next Tuesday, when Crop Over climaxes.

He believes Barbadians will dig into their pockets on the final four days of the annual festival, as employers make last-ditch efforts to attract customers to all facets of business, be it big stores in Bridgetown, or small vendors on the Spring Garden Highway during Bridgetown Market.

“Although there are two back-to-back bank holidays on Monday and Tuesday, most retailers are also expected to take advantage by opening on Sunday (tomorrow).
