THE ‘EXTRA’ DAY of the Bridgetown Market received a thumbs up from vendors.

According to some sellers who lined the Spring Garden Highway yesterday, the National Cultural Foundation (NCF) should continue to offer an additional day of the Crop Over event as it could boost their overall profits. As the street became a hive of activity with lively music and strolling event-goers, vendors eagerly readied themselves for the potential sales.

The operator at Caroline Bar, Caroline Mayers, complained about sales over the weekend, saying Saturday, in particular, was slow. She said she welcomed the opportunity to earn more but urged the NCF to reduce the cost of the stalls.

Mayers, a first-time participant, noted that she paid $1400 for the spot, $250 for liquor licence, and $210 each for three plugs, an investment cost that made it hard to make a profit. (LT)
