PM among those paying respects to Sir Frederick
PRIME MINISTER Freundel Stuart paid tribute to the late Sir Frederick Smith today while his body lay in repose at the Democratic Labour Party’s (DLP) headquarters, George Street, Belleville, St Michael.
Sir Frederick, one of the founding members and first chairman of the DLP, was remembered by Stuart for his commitment to the party.
Stuart said he will be remembered with profound gratitude and affection.
“His passing represents a kind of end to an era in Barbados because that type of politician is no longer around and we have a lot to learn from the example which he set in politics, in law and as a citizen of Barbados,” Stuart said.
Sir Frederick’s son Craig Smith and daughter Astrid Breedy also attended the viewing along with a number of politicians. (LK)
