Airport employees to appear in court on drug charges

THREE EMPLOYEES of the Grantley Adams International Airport are scheduled to appear in court tomorrow after being arrested and charged with several drug offences.

They are Peter Narine, 25 years of Grazettes, St Michael; Ronald Livingston Alleyne, 44, of Brereton, St Philip and Dexter Jamal Austin, 31, of  Workmans, St George.

Members of the Royal Barbados Police Force Drug Squad conducted a special operation which led to the discovery of 19 kilograms of cannabis with a street value in excess of $80 000.

The trio has been charged with possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and conspiracy to traffick cannabis.

They will appear in the District ‘A’ Court on Saturday. (PR/SAT)
