Instead, Opposition Leader Mia Mottley has advised Minister of Finance Christopher Sinckler to invite the island’s economic movers and shakers to a national round-table discussion “away from the cameras, away from the microphones” to hammer out a way forward economically.

And with the island’s debt increasing and certain social services like garbage collection and transportation sporadic, Mottley said: “We are running out of options.”

She was speaking at a press conference at the office of the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Buildings yesterday.

Flanked by Member of Parliament for St Joseph Dale Marshall and Santia Bradshaw, the representative for St Michael South East, with economist Ryan Straughn also in attendance, the political leader of the Barbados Labour Party declared the country’s economy needed an MRI-like test (magnetic resonance imaging) to find out what was wrong.
