Some employers checking social media

Bosses are said to be trolling Facebook pages, checking out tweets and looking at photos on Instagram.

A prominent attorney has told the SUNDAY SUN that there was nothing illegal about this practice, but he cautioned that it was better to wait until after meeting the candidate face to face to avoid any claim of discrimination.

The Barbados Employers’ Confederation has accepted that employers can use the presence of social media as a strategy when recruiting. (MB)
