A 63-YEAR-OLD Bajan mother in New York is now facing child abuse allegations in a Manhattan criminal court.
Patricia Harper, a nanny, who has three children of her own and has never been accused of a criminal offense, has appeared before a judge in Manhattan charged with attempted assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
According to court papers, Harper allegedly slapped an eight-month-old boy and threw him on a couch in his mother’s apartment in the upscale Tribeca section of Manhattan.
Harper’s legal troubles apparently began when the child’s mother allegedly became suspicious about scratches on the child’s face, and the Bajan nanny employed to look after him couldn’t explain their origin, stated the court papers.
