Fogging Schedule August 29 to September 1
OFFICERS OF THE Vector Control Unit of the Ministry of Health will continue fogging exercises in parishes throughout Barbados next week in an effort to control the spread of the Aedes aegypti mosquito.
On Monday, August 29, the team will be in St Andrew, where areas to be fogged include Shorey Village, Savannah Road, Douglin Tenantry Road, Walkers, Bawdens, Babylon Road, Redman Road and the environs.
They will also spray neighbourhoods in Belleplaine, Farrell Road, Corbin’s Village, Lakes Development, Lakes Village, Isolation Road, Jordan’s Road and Franklyn Douglin Tenantry Road.
On Tuesday, August 30, the team will be in St Peter in Diamond Corner, Castle Tenantry, Gays, the Mount, Boscobelle Terrace, Boscobelle, Collins and neighbouring districts. Another team will fog Speightstown, Queen Street, Bovell Road, Porters Road, Chapel Street, Church Street, Major Walk and the environs.
On Wednesday, August 31, the exercise will continue in St George in Newbury, Gun Hill, Country Road, Bridge Cot, Cottage, Market Hill, Eastlyn, Bulkeley Terrace, Cane Hill Road, Connell Road, Good Intent and surrounding areas.
Christ Church will be targeted on Thursday, September 1, specifically Worthing, Golf Club Road, Garden, Blue Waters, Rockley, Rockley Meadow, Rose Garden, Dayrells Road, Rockley Terrace, Rockley and neighbouring districts.
A second team will visit Garrison Road, Hastings, Harts Gap with Avenues, St Matthias Road, St Matthias with Avenues and the environs.
Fogging will be carried out from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. daily, and householders are reminded to open windows and doors to allow the spray to enter. Persons with respiratory problems are advised to protect themselves, and children should not be allowed to play in the fog. (BGIS)
