Read, who will be at the wheel of a Toyota Starlet, heads the club’s drivers’ standings with 116 points.

Only two drivers, Andrew Jones, in the Ford Escort MkII, and veteran John Corbin, in a Toyota Corolla, hold a mathematical chance of overtaking Read in the race for honours with 101 points each.

Another experienced driver, Trevor “Mappus” Mapp, who will be driving a Mitsubishi Mirage, is third in the standings with 95 points, ahead of former club champion driver Adrian Linton with 72. Rommell Martin and Jason Harewood are tied in fifth place in the standings with 66 points each. (TT)
