Wardens working without tickets
CITY TRAFFIC WARDENS may be on the job, but they don’t have parking tickets to hand out.
The SUNDAY SUN understands that traffic wardens have been carrying empty blue books in their hands for more than a month.
The Police Traffic Department is responsible for the 13 traffic wardens who patrol Bridgetown and its environs on a daily basis, but when this newspaper contacted Station Sergeant Seibert Johnson he said he was not aware of the situation and referred us to Inspector Ronald Standford, who is in charge of the department. However, up until press time the SUNDAY SUN was unable to reach him.
A source close to the situation revealed that the Government Printery had advised that it had nothing with which to print the tickets, and had made several requests for stationery but to no avail. (MB)
