Move to get girls involved in technical careers
THE MINISTRY OF Transport and Works is in the midst of an outreach effort to attract females to the technical career choices they offer.
In what is the first phase of the outreach, girls between 12 and 16 from secondary and tertiary institutions have been invited to a series of workshops at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre between today and Thursday.
Female staff will take the lead in giving information on the career opportunities at the ministry, the qualifications needed and other pertinent information.
Students from the Alleyne School and Combermere participated in today’s workshops, and representatives from all the other schools are expected to do so in the coming days. (YB)
