INTERIM CHAIRMAN of the Association of Public Transport Operators Morris Lee is calling for an amnesty for drivers of public service vehicles who have chalked up a high numbers of convictions.
He suggested an audit be carried out on the offences, and depending on the results, the offenders’ slates should be “wiped clean” and a fresh start offered.

He said he believed there was a need for enlightenment where the subject of convictions was concerned and he called for a definition of convictions, saying the parameters were “extremely wide”. (GC)
