CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER of the Professional Road Tennis Association, Dale Clarke, has thrown his full support behind next month’s World Road Tennis (WRT) Championships. However, he is against the Government heading any tournament.
“I am fully supportive of the upcoming World Road Tennis Championships because I believe in planting seeds. If you do that, then eventually the tree is going to come. All I am saying however, for a tournament of this magnitude, it has to be executed well and it has to be just not a one-off tournament and then there is a lull,” he told the SATURDAY SUN.
“If I am correct, the last world tournament would have been seven years ago . . . . A world tournament is something that should be [held] a minimum of [every] two years. But I believe more development would be needed to see the true execution of a world tournament.”(RA)
